What is Breast Implant Wrinkling?

Breast implant wrinkling or the appearance of folds sometimes occurs with saline inflatable implants. The folds may be visible in certain positions or ridges may be felt along the bottom of the augmented breast. The condition occurs more commonly in woman with thin skin or under filled breast implants. While overfilling of breast implants does help reduce this problem, it is often difficult to completely correct. Overfilling too much may produce undesirable shape and hardness. This can be one drawback of saline breast implants.
