What is the most common type of breast implant currently in use?

At the present time saline implants are more commonly used than silicone implants. However since the release of silicone gel implants in 2006, the number of patients requesting them has continued to increase. Factors affecting the more common use of saline include overall cost, surgeon experience, and patients’ perception of safety with saline implants.

With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Richard Linderman of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery of Indiana, has been able to obtain excellent results for his patients using both saline and silicone gel implants. Depending on patients’ expectations and physical examination, Dr. Linderman will help you make the right choice of which type of implant is best for you.
