Dr Linderman has helped many Indianapolis breast enhancement patients improve their bustline .Many patients desire improvement in breast shape to remove sagging and achieve a more youthful breast contour, but may not want increased volume with a breast implant. A breast lift can help many women who have experienced a sagging or loose bust from pregnancy, weight loss, or aging regain a more youthful breast contour and an elevated bust line.
Breast lifts are usually performed under general anesthesia and take one to three hours to perform depending upon the amount of lift.
"I waited a long time to have breast lift reduction searching numerous surgeons. I could not be more pleased with the results. Dr. Linderman did an excellent job and is very professional. I wish I would have found him years ago" C.M.
Is a Breast Lift for Me?
Good Candidates for breast lift surgery may have any of the following conditions:
- Breast are pendulous, but are of adequate size.
- Breasts lack substance or firmness
- Nipples and areolas point downward and are below the breast crease.
The type, length, and location of incisions will vary with the amount of lift required. This will be discussed after your consultation and evaluation.
Dr. Linderman will answer any questions in your consultation and is happy to share before-and-after pictures of patients he has helped achieve a more satisfying body image. Click here for questions and answers on mastopexy (breast lift).
Breast Ptosis
Ptosis of the breast is the naturally occurring condition of descent of the nipple-areola complex and breast tissue on the chest wall. “Ptosis” is derived from the Greek word “fall”. Breast Ptosis is the primary indication for performing a Breast Lift or Mastopexy. The correct evaluation of breast ptosis and breast volume will help determine the best procedure to achieve an ideal result.

Types of Breast Lift
Breast examination and the patient's expectations will determine the method of breast lift indicated and whether additional volume is required. The evaluation includes an assessment of skin quality, the presence and degree of breast ptosis, and relative breast volume.
Skin may be of good quality with elasticity and lack of stretch marks. It may be very thin, inelastic with stretch marks and loss of breast volume. As the degree of ptosis increases, a greater lift is usually required with more extensive skin removal and surgical incisions. Skin quality also plays a role in the selection of saline or silicone gel breast implants.
Benelli Breast Lift
A Benelli, concentric, or donut type mastopexy are different names for an operation that is indicated for minor forms of breast ptosis when the nipple requires elevation of only a few centimeters. In this procedure a ring of skin is removed from around the areola and then the circumference of the circle is reduced with a purse string or so called Benelli suture. Often an implant is place through the same incision to add breast volume. A Benelli breast lift is an excellent procedure when done under the right circumstances. The amount of lift is mild to moderate and scarring is confined to the areola or pigmented area of the breast.
Lollipop Breast Lift
This type of lift is so named because of the surgical scar produced goes around the areola with a vertical extension inferiorly. It provides a little more lift than a Benelli with slightly more scarring. Again an implant may be added for increased volume.
Anchor Breast Lift
In patients that present with moderate to severe breast ptosis, an anchor type breast is usually indicated. Similar scars are produced as with a lollipop lift with the addition of an incision along the breast fold producing an inverted T scar. This procedure is extremely versatile and allows correction of severe ptosis in cases where the nipple points inferiorly. Volume correction is often performed with the placement of an implant
