Your Plastic Surgery Consultation

When a new patient calls to schedule a consultation with Dr. Linderman, there may be a sense of anxiety as to what may occur and what information will be provided. Always remember you are under no obligation to have plastic surgery or to choose Dr. Linderman even after the consultation. Patients should view their consultation as a fact finding mission to determine a number of things, such as:
- What are the reasons behind wanting cosmetic surgery and areas of concern?
- What do you know about a procedure and what would you like to learn?
- Does Dr. Linderman feel he can meet your expectations?
- Are you comfortable with Dr. Linderman and his staff and do you like them?
After registering with our receptionist and providing some basic patient information, you will be asked to view an informative DVD on one or more procedures that concern you. Information such as recovery, general risks, incisions and length of procedure will be covered. The DVD is only a starting point in the patient education process.
Next you will meet our patient coordinator who will introduce you to Dr. Linderman. Your first encounter with Dr. Linderman will be in the privacy of his office and not in a small impersonal exam room. During your consultation Dr. Linderman will learn more about you and what expectations and motivations have brought you in for your consultation. Dr. Linderman will then perform a thorough physical examination and take appropriate pictures in an adjacent exam room.For breast augmentation patients, a custom sizing system is utilized to determine implant size. Body contouring patient undego a full assessment of skin quality, areas of skin laxity and problem areas for liposuction. Facial rejuvenation candidates may undergo computer imaging.
Following your exam your will return to Dr. Linderman's office to discuss his findings and recommendations. Risks and complications, incisions and a post operative course will be described. Pre and post op photos of Dr. Linderman's patients will be reviewed. Every attempt is made to answer all of your questions. Remember there are no stupid questions as patient education is one of the hallmarks of a successful procedure and a happy patient.
Finally you will meet with our patient care coordinator to discuss fees, financing options and scheduling matters if desired. All of this is experienced in a warm, personal and private environment with no pressure.
