Lipo Dissolve Questions
What is Injection Lipolysis or Lipo Dissolve?
LipoDissolve is a non-surgical body contouring method that treats small, localized fat deposits with injections of a mixture of Phosphatidycholine [PPC] and other chemicals that lead to the dissolution of fat cells. The melted fat is then eliminated from the body.
Who is a candidate for Lipo Dissolve?
Good candidates for this procedure are at or near their ideal body weight and have small-localized fat deposits. Patients who are overweight or have diabetes or other serious medical conditions are not acceptable candidates for this procedure. This technique should not be used as a means of weight loss or as a substitute for liposuction or other surgical procedures.
How is the Lipo Dissolve performed?
Lipo Dissolve involves a series of multiple injections in Dr.Linderman’s office. The area to be treated is marked with a grid pattern to determine where to place the PPC mixture. No anesthetic is required. Following the injections, a small dressing may be applied and the patient is released a short time later.
How long does the procedure take?
Lipo Dissolve takes 15 to 45 minutes depending upon the size and number of areas treated.
Is Lipo Dissolve painful?
There is minimal discomfort with Dr. Linderman’s unique Lipo Dissolve approach. Post–operatively, many patients report a mild burning sensation, which is reduced through the over-the-counter pain reliever Tylenol. Patients will experience swelling and bruising of the treated area, which can last 5 to 10 days. Activities are not restricted.
How many treatments will I require?
The number of treatments differs from person to person, depending upon body region and body size. Typically, good results are obtained with two to four treatments at four to six week intervals.
When can I resume my normal activities?
Normal activities may be resumed the day after the procedure. Patients should avoid engaging in more strenuous exercise for two to three days, to minimize swelling and soreness.
When will I see results from the injections?
Results are usually apparent within four to six weeks, but it usually takes two to three sessions to see an improvement.
What areas can be treated with Lipo Dissolve?
Areas that respond well to LipoDissolve include: facial jowls, fat under the chin, “bra rolls,” lower abdomen, upper arms, flanks, and inner thighs. Other areas may be amenable to treatment. The procedure is also well suited to scar management, cellulite reduction, and treatment of post-liposuction deformities.
How satisfied are treated patients?
With proper patient selection, overall satisfaction exceeds 90%, with very few risks or side effects.
What are the risks and complications of Lipo Dissolve?
In the hands of an experienced surgeon with excellent training, such as Dr. Linderman, significant complications are very infrequent. Swelling and discomfort rapidly resolve and patients return quickly to normal activities.
What is the cost of Lipo Dissolve?
Cost is based on the treatment area and is approximately $1,500 for the typically required two to three treatment sessions.
