Liposuction can sculpt the body and face to remove localized fatty deposits when exercise and diet are unsuccessful. However, liposuction is not a means to lose weight.
How a person responds to liposuction is affected by age, the amount of fat removed, and by their skin elasticity and its ability to respond to the underlying fat removal.

Liposuction - Patient Recovery
Patient recovery time is depends on the number of areas treated and the amount of fat removed. One day of bed rest may be required following the procedure. A compressive garment to minimize bruising and swelling is usually worn for up to 4 weeks post operatively.
Dr. Linderman has been performing liposuction since 1982 and has continually modified this procedure to add new innovations such as smaller instrumentation, tumescent infusion, and ultrasonic liposuction or UAL (ultrasound-assisted liposuction).
Tumescent infusion allows more effective and larger fat removal with a higher margin of safety. Ultrasonic liposuction liquefies fat with high frequency sound waves and is gentler with less bruising.
